Time in Hungary now

Time in Hungary is CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer.

Yes, it observes DST. The country moves to Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+2) during the summer months, typically from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.

The nation has followed CET since 1891. The use of CET was standardized across several countries in Central Europe to synchronize timekeeping for economic and social activities. The zone change to CEST during the summer months was introduced to make better use of daylight and conserve energy.

The country shares the same zone as several Central European countries. It is in the same zone as countries like Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia (CET/CEST), although some neighboring countries, like Romania, use EET during the winter months.
